For years there has been talk about permanently hanging the Sesquicentennial Quilt, which was uniquely designed by Roger and Verna Sprunger, carefully appliquéd by Becky (Mrs. Jeff) Lehman, and completed in 1988 to commemorate the 150 years of our existence. But like all other good intentions, it just never got done. Well, that is no longer the case. The historical committee is proud to announce that the quilt is hanging on the east interior wall of the church over by the Hebrews Coffee area – if you come up the east steps you can’t miss it.

College age & young adults are invited to an exciting summer series simply called “10. A.”

The name is code for “10 Apps” which means that we’ll help you “download” some answers to some of the tough subjects of life that college age and young adults tend to grapple with. Not only does the name stand for “10 Apps” but it also means that by 10 a.m. every Sunday you’ll be walking out the door with another app for doing life right.

Here’s the skinny . . . we’re bringing in college profs and a few locals to offer a class on Sunday mornings from 9-10 a.m. that has been intentionally designed for you.

If you come and track with us for ten weeks, I have no doubt that these “10 Apps” will give you direction and clarity in your life journey. No way you want to miss free applications! It’s my opinion that “10 Apps” can be the “software” that just might transform your life! No doubt that you’ll be ready for college or a career, but most importantly you’ll be ready for life!

I hope to see you there!

Registration Form to download

Lord’s Prayer * Safari VBS—where kids go WILD about Jesus! is the theme for Vacation Bible School this summer, June 20-24, 8:45 a.m. – 12:00 noon.

All children from age 4 (by June 1) to those completing 6th grade are invited to a part of VBS. (Ages 2-3 are invited to attend if they are children of VBS staff.)

Together we will learn to talk to God as we explore the Lord’s Prayer and go on an expedition into the pages of God’s Word through Bible stories, memory verses, and special prayer activities. Along the way we will have lots of FUN as we discover exotic animals, create safari crafts, play exciting games, sing upbeat songs and enjoy delicious safari snacks! And, most importantly, we want children to learn for themselves that Jesus can make a life changing, eternal difference in their lives!

Registration is coming soon to the VBS table in the patio or you will be able to get the registration form from the church’s website. Children are encouraged to bring their friends! Children who bring a friend, along with their friend, will receive a small gift. Invitations to invite your friends and family will also be available at the VBS table.

This year’s VBS mission project offering is for a plumbing repair project at the pediatric hospital at the mission compound in Mali, West Africa where Doug and Angela Wenger are serving. Our goal is to collect $2500 to go toward purchasing new plumbing materials to replace all of their leaking ones! It will be a daily boys vs. girls contest of who brings in the most money. Winners will get to pick suckers from a sucker tree. There will be a few specially marked suckers each day that will be for an additional prize for those children. Watch our progress toward our goal as the “leaks” disappear from the pipes around the patio railing and then become connected when we reach our goal!

We will be graduating both 5th & 6th graders this year. They will meet at Fellowship Point with youth pastor, Darren Kloepper, and his crew. If possible, parents are asked to drop off and pick up these students at Fellowship Point this year. As students graduating from VBS this year, they will enjoy a trip to Pokagon State Park on Thursday (rain date—Friday).

The closing program and open house is scheduled for Friday night, June 24 at 7:00 p.m.

We are looking forward to lots of children joining us for all the fun prayer and safari activities as we seek to know God through prayer. If you have any questions, please feel free to call Carole Neuenschwander, Director of Children’s Ministries, at the church office, (260) 589-3108.
