Das Märit Farmers and Artists Market

Das Märit is a not-for-profit ministry of First Mennonite Church with the goal of serving the mind, body and spirit of our community in the name of God. Berne's open-air market is held in the west parking lot of First Mennonite Church from May - October and only supports local vendors that "Make It, Bake It or Grow It" in Adams County and surrounding areas.  Please support local commerce.

Vendors selling produce or baked goods should be aware of new Indiana law HEA 1149 that requires the vendor to obtain a food handler certification. For more information about becoming a vendor call Becky Lehman at 260-849-1603 or Hazel Lautzenheiser at 260-849-0527.

Vendor application packets can be obtained at the market information booth, by mail, or printed here. Vendors must be from the surrounding area and "Grow, Make or Bake" the items they will be selling.

Home based food vendors (HBV) must have a Safe Food Handlers Certificate on file.

Adams County Extension Office is offering a ServSafe Food Handler course in April 2024.
