communion
We will be celebrating communion together next Sunday, July 6, during our worship service. Please take time to reflect on the meaning of communion and come ready to celebrate the sacrifice Jesus has made for us. Swiss Village Residents: For members of First Mennonite living at Swiss Village who wish to participate in communion next Sunday, the elements will be available at the front desk the day before communion.

Calling all men! A men’s chorus is forming for the Swiss Days Sunday morning service. All men are welcome to sing! Rehearsal will be on Wednesday, July 23, at 6:30 p.m.

perspectives
The 15-week course Comprehend God’s Global Purpose is coming this fall! This course from Perspectives USA examines the story of God’s Global Purpose from four vantage points or “perspectives”. It will be held at Hope Missionary Church in Bluffton (just 20 minutes away) starting Tuesday, Sept. 2. Please see Tad Wulliman or call him at (513) 767-0151 for more information.

Das MÄrit Farmers & Artists market
Das Marit Farmers' and Artists' Market is off to a great start this season with vendors offering flowers, baked goods, and a variety of handicrafts! The market is open from 8:00 a.m. to noon in the First Mennonite Church parking lot at the corner of SR 218 and US 27 in Berne.

undergraduate tuition help available
Undergraduate Students: If you are a member of First Mennonite Church and are involved in a service project at any time during the year, you can apply for college tuition money from the Voluntary Service Trust Fund. Guidelines for the Trust Fund and applications are available in the church office.

Mission Festival Service Project
The Mission Festival Committee has chosen to repeat the MCC School Kits for this year’s service project in November. Once again, 2,000 drawstring bags will be the goal. Please see Sharon Ninde for instructions on sewing and fabric requirements, if interested in helping.

Registration for Camp Luz is now open! Further information can be found at campluz.org. The church helps underwrite the cost for all families wishing to send children to camp. Any questions may be directed to Debby Neuenschwander (children) or Bill Helmlinger (youth).

children's ministry news
Kids Ministry Openings: The following positions are available to anyone who loves kids and wants to share the love of Jesus with them! Elementary Children’s Church teacher and Preschool Children’s Church teacher (once a month): Both of these positions have youth helpers and are during the 10:00 a.m. worship hour. Volunteers serve on a rotating basis with a team of teachers, and can be somewhat flexible on the schedule. Talk to Chris or Debby today (or call the church office) if you are interested in serving.
Kids Bible Reading Plan: Reading plans are available on the Family Resource wall! One specific chapter a day for 100 days gives a good overview of the whole Bible! Complete at least 50 by Sunday, Aug. 1, for a prize. Read as a family or individual child. Other online resources are available at www.adventurebible.com. Fill their minds with the Word of God this summer!

YOUTH NEWS
Berne Bash: Area youth groups will get together this Wednesday, July 2, from 6:30- 8:00 p.m. at Berne Evangelical Church. This will be a time of fellowship with area churches, along with the Basque students that will be here from Spain.
City Challenge: City Challenge presentation night will be Sunday, July 13, at 6:30 p.m. Thank you to everyone that came out and supported the youth in June at the waffle stand!
Cedar Point Trip: The youth will be going to Cedar Point on Thursday, July 24. The cost will be $50, which will cover the drink band and ticket. You will need to bring money for two meals. We will need 15 committed to going to get this price and add-on. Please sign up today and grab a permission slip.

Borrowing materials is the same, just sign the check-out card.
