  • PART-TIME CUSTODIAN POSITION

    A part-time custodian is needed to clean and maintain the sanctuary and Family Life Center, as well as on-call hours every other weekend. If you know of anyone who would be interested in this position, please contact Mike Habegger or the church office.






  • Wednesday nights are for everyone

    Join us each Wednesday for Bible study, personal enrichment, and fellowship. There is something for everyone!


    Start your evening with the Fellowship Meal, served from 5:45-6:30 in the Fellowship Hall. Classes begin at 7:00. 


    Adults can choose from three electives:

    TACTICS, an 8-week video series led by Matt and Lilia Wheeler in room 15, provides a game plan for communicating the truth about Christianity with confidence and grace.

    LIVING IN LIGHT OF THE END: LESSONS FROM 2 PETER, taught by Matt Harmon in the chapel, provides guidance on living faithfully while waiting for Christ's return.

    THE EDGE, led by teachers and participants of the younger adult Sunday School classes, meets in room 13 and focuses on younger adults.


    Kids and teens participate in exciting, age-appropriate activities:

    Grades 1-5 - Bible Skills, Drills, and Thrills! in the Family Life Center

    Age 4 - K - SuperBook Gizmo Go! in the room at the bottom of the ramp

    Age 0 - 3 in the Toddler Nursery


  • choir rehearsals begin

    Chancel Choir: Chancel Choir rehearsals will begin on Wednesday, September 13, at 8:15 p.m. in the sanctuary. All dedicated singers are invited to join the choir! To join, just show up at the first rehearsal. We rehearse every Wednesday at 8:15 p.m. from September through the beginning of May. Psalm 147:1b: “How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!”

    Mennonotes (a youth choir for anyone in grades 6- 8) rehearsals will begin Wednesday, September 13 at 6:10 p.m. in the sanctuary. 

    JAM (a children’s choir for anyone in grades 2-5) rehearsals will begin Wednesday, September 20 at 6:10 p.m. in room 7-8.

    Grace Notes rehearsals will begin Wednesday, September13, at 5:15 p.m. in the choir room.


  • michiana mennonite relief sale

    Attention Relief Sale Bakers: The baking supply table is stocked for the Michiana Relief Sale on September 22-23. Stop by the table today, then bake and bring your items to the church by 9:30 a.m. on Friday, September 22. 

    Relief Craft Sale: Crafts for the sale are on display along the upper hallway outside the chapel. Any craft item you wish to donate should be brought to the Women’s Ministries room by Wednesday evening, September 20.


  • Messiah rehearsals begin

    “King of kings, and Lord of lords”: Rehearsals for Handel’s Messiah will begin on Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 7:00 p.m. at First Mennonite Church. Singers are invited to join the Mennonite Choral Society as they prepare for the December 2 & 3 performances. 






  • toddler gym jump-around

    This fun monthly activity for little ones will resume on Thursday, October 5, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. in the Family Life Center. It is open to toddlers through four-year-olds who are accompanied by an adult, and is mainly an unstructured playtime. Come to the FLC (please enter the east doors) on the first Thursday of each month through May 2, 2024. It’s the perfect large space to “jump around”! *Note: In November we will meet on the 2nd and the 30th (nothing in December).

    das Märit Farmers & Artists Market announces several changes to the market for the fall:

    • Fall hours are from 9:00 - noon continuing at the west parking lot of First Mennonite Church.
    • Pumpkin waffles will be added to the delicious regular waffles served from 9:00 - 11:15.
    • The final 2023 market will be Saturday, October 7.
    Berne's open-air market only supports local vendors that "Make It, Bake It or Grow It" in Adams and surrounding areas.  Please support local commerce.

    Movie on the Lawn: Youth will be having a “Movie on the Lawn” night at Darin & Kim Ringger’s home from 5:00-10:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23. We will roast hot dogs for supper. Hanging out, games, and a rock climbing wall will be available until the movie begins at 8:00 p.m. Transportation will be provided. 

    Deep ‘n Wide: Our first Deep ‘n Wide for the school year will be Sunday, September 24, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. down in the Youth room.

    Contribute to the needs of our community by participating in Project Share. You can place your donations on the table in the foyer or in the box inside the east entrance of the church.  Suggestions for each month are listed below, but all donations are appreciated.

    Did you know that we have an exercise class that meets for a half hour at the church three times a week? Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9:00 a.m. in the Family Life Center we gather for a fun time of walking and aerobic exercise. With the help of a 30-minute work-out video, we exercise and/or walk the equivalent of two miles! Please come join us!
